Costa Rica is a country in the Central American region of North America. Costa Rica borders the Caribbean Sea to the east, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. Costa Rica also borders Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the south. It is located in Central America, connecting North and South America. Because of its location, warm weather predominates, but many different microclimates are found throughout the country. It is a rugged, with an abundance of rainforest, and is known for its beaches, volcanoes, and biodiversity making it a beautiful country. Roughly a quarter of its area is made up of protected jungle, teaming with wildlife including the infamous spider monkeys and quetzal birds.
The people were very welcoming and anxious to have me see all Costa Rica has to offer. Although the country is small and it covers only 0.03 percent of the surface of the globe, it shelters 5 percent of the existing biodiversity in the entire world. Twenty six percent of the country is composed of conservation and natural protected territory. The birds of Costa Rica are beautiful and diverse inciting passion in casual birders as well as experienced birders providing endless discovery and photographic opportunities. Add in the reptiles, animals and creepy crawly things and I kept bust day and night making photographs.
