September 13-16, 2020 Triple D Ranch Photography Trip with Kelly
Winter At Triple D Ranch
Septembere 13-16, 2020- 4 Day Wildlife Photography Event
Featuring 9 of Triple “D” s North American & Exotic Wildlife Species In Northwest Montana’s Winter Wonderland with Photo Instructor and Photographer Kelly Walkotten.
Join wildlife photographer Kelly Walkotten at Triple “D” Ranch for four days of spectacular Wildlife Photography Event. A minimum of eight species , to include the best of Triple D’s animals, specially chosen for you. The animals will be presented in natural settings that include habitats such as a stream, pond, willow, cottonwood, aspen and birch groves, spruce-fir forests, rocky ridges, and more. We will photograph mornings and late afternoons to maximize the best lighting.
Also included are 3 classroom sessions with constructive critique of your images, as well as help in both Photoshop and Lightroom. Learn wildlife photography tips, digital workflow and processing, from wildlife photographer Kelly Walkotten. This is a small group setting with a limit of 12 photographers to insure there is no crowding, and each person can receive individualized instruction. There will be room to move around and a tripod can be used, but I find it easier to navigate without one. A long lens is not necessary, I use an 80mm-400mm, but a 70mm-200mm is plenty big enough.
We will plan on the first 3 days of the event to photograph 9 species of wildlife animals. The 4th day is to allow for make-up sessions in the event of inclement weather. If the “open” date is not utilized for make-up sessions, it will be opened up to allow photographers the freedom to photograph any other species listed for $175.00 per photographer, per species (Large Primary Species require a minimum of 4 participants). This is a discounted price special, of 60% off, compared to the normal daily rate.
We will start on January 22, 2021 with an organizational meeting at 8:00am, then head out to our first location to photograph. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons, we will meet for critique, Photoshop and Lightroom workflow instruction. Kelly will also be giving hands on instruction throughout your photo sessions, so you get the best possible photographs of the beautiful animals in the snow. Field instruction will include, shutter speed, white balance, and fast action shooting, so you return home with the photographs that you dreamed of!
A tentative list of animals can include: Canada Lynx, Snow Fox, Mountain Lion, Red Fox, Bobcat, and Wolves, Snow Leopard, and Fisher. Species not included in the cost of the 8 photo sessions will be offered to participants at an additional rate of $175.00 per session. Optional Animal Species Include:
